After prayers a number of petitions were presented, re claims for land, by Messrs Joyce, Hamlin, Tole, Bryce, and De Lautour. THE THAMES EAILWAY. Mr Richaedson gave notice that he would ask the Minister for Public Works what stops had been taken to carry out clause 3 of the Railways Act of last session in reference to the line from Hamilton to the Thames; there were any plans for the same; if the best route had been selected ; if the Q-ovornor in Council had been consulted in reference to carrying out the same, and the cost thereof. liND TAX EETtraN. Mr Geoege gave notico to ask for a return of amount of land taxable, and persons liable to pay same. WEST COAST MATTBBS. Dr. Hknby gave notice to ask the Minister for Public Works if ho intends to move any department of works from Wcßtland to any other part of the colony. Also to ask for a sitting of the Waste Lands Board at Westport ; also for the report of the Jackson's Bay Settlement Commission. BAY OF ISLANDS EOLIi.
