The founder of tho famous chocola’o firm of J. S. Ery and Sons, of London and Bristol, has just died, leaving an immense fortune to his heirs. He lived to see one of his sons a judge, and the other an AI.P. The London “ World” thus criticises Patti and Nioolini: —“ Eor twenty years she sings the same operas, and certainly not the best of their kind ; foe twenty years her charming, even bell-like voice keeps the people spellbound ; and during this long period, while other stars have risen and gone down on tho cffence by tho prisoner, who attempted to ngfault her companion. Ha was committed for trial.
