SUPPOSED WRECK AT WELLINGTON HEADS.

' It is much feared that a deplorable wreck occurred near Pencarrow head during the late violent southerly gales, and that all hands have perished. The following telegram was sent in by the pilot to the harbor master this afternoon :—"A quantity of wreckage has been found at Pencarrow, consisting of deck planking, three inch, some portions of bulwarks and rail, painted green, cabin fittings, birdEoye maple pannelled. Some of the wreckage is painted blue. A figure head, a fiddle shield in the centre, painted Vermillion, with scroll work, green and gold ; a seaman's chest, without lid, and no marks ; part of a boat, painted black. The wreckage is scattered from Pencarrow head to Saltwater lake, about four miles." Aa most of it is thrown well up on the beach it is conjectured the wreck must have ocourred about a week ago at least. As yet nothing has been discovered to identify the vessel. As the description of the figure head agreed with that of the Malay collier, it was at first thought that was the vessel, but it appears the Malay only left Newcastle about four days ago. Two other vessels ore expected, the Pareora and the Pleione, but it could|not be them, both being iron. No bodies have been found. The pilot was ordered to take a whale boat and make careful search. It is thought unneoeßeary to send a steamer, as if anyone had been saved he could easily have made his way to the pilot station. It appears that about a week ago Captain Gibbon, of Patea, passed through a lot of wreck outside the Heads on his way to Patea. He did not report the matter, as he thought some inward bound steamer would be certain to do so. There is a good deal of speculation as to the numo of the vossel. It is reported to-night that one of the boats has been found, but this is not confirmed.
