WAITAEA, July 3,
Thirty-fire Maori prisoners hare just been brought in. Among them is Wairari, son of the Hon. Wi Parata. The Native* say that bloodshed will be the next thing. WELLINGTON, July 3. The Government baa received intelligencefrom Major Tube that he arrested this morning thirty-three Native ploughcrs. Directly after the arrival of the Hincmaa she will be sent bach to bring these down, along with the other seventeen already arreated, and led go them in Wellington gaol. Major Roberts arrested the first batah of ploughers, numbering eleven, at Waihi. These will be lodged at Wanganui gaol for the present. Other gangs of plouglurs will follow up the work, and also be arrested. It is expected that Tito Kow&ru and 6* large party of his men will commence ploughing shortly. He will be arrested also with about 150 followers.
The total number of prisoners now in custody is sixty-five. When the Hon. Wi Pavata was told about his son being arrested with a ploughing party, ho said he was not sorry, as his son had been doing nothing he need be ashamed of. Ho was merely making a solemn protest against his countrymen being any longer kept out of what is their just due.
