On Saturday, the Government issued peremptory instructions to tho authorities from White Cliffs to Wanganui, to arrest and imprison all Maoris found ploughing European lands. Eowi telegraphed to the Native Minister, denying that be lass any sympathy with To Whiti, and condemns tho action of To Whiti at Mokau, in ordering the Europeans off, and wants to know why ho want so far. Eewi, in two telegrams, says ho iu on the side of tho Government. It having been reported to the Government that To Whiti was going to discontinue the ploughing in a few days, and. disclaimed any connection with ploughing at Waingongoro, tho Government replied that they could not wait To Wl'.ifi’a convenience, and must arrest nil trespassers forthwith. AU was quiet at Hawera yesterday, though sixty Natives were seen on the way there from Opunake. It was thought probable that tho Natives might resume ploughing at Hawera to-day, yesterday being wet.
