PARISH ENTERTINMENT.
The second entertainment, in connection v i h the parish of St. John, was given in the schoolroom last night. Notwithstanding the wet night there was a very good attendance, and the following programme was gone through : Reading, Rev. H. C. M. Watson; song, “When other lips,” Mr Lang; vocal duet, “ Would that my love,” Mendelssohn, Miss McDougall and Mr Taylor; reading, Mr Murphy; duet, “Excelsior” (Blookloy), Miss Hurrell and Mrs W. H. Anthony; song, “ The Gallants of England,” Mr Knox (encored); song, Mr W. 11. Anthony; reading, Rev. O.P. Anderson ; song, “ Coming through the rye,” Miss Hurrell; encore song, “Ye banks and Braes”; song, “ A free lance,” Mr Knox ; song, “The pale, young curate,’-’ Mr Lang; song, “Kathleen Mavourneon,” Mrs W. Anthony; song, “The brave old Temeraire,” Mr Taylor; National Anthem. The next entertainment will take place in a fortnight’s time.
