POETRY.

MY BANKER! Who, when I first a shop did keep, Came rushing to me every week, With pleasant ways and accent; meek ? My banker. Who first peraaded me to start A small account at his new mart, And for my balance quick did dart ? My banker. Who when the glittering cash he saw • Bafely and firmly in his paw,. Told me I could overdraw ? My banker. Who, when I made a spec in pills, Pqrt wine, candles, and ladies' frills, Dishonoured all my local bills 1 My banker. Who offered in my ruined state To bolster up my weak estate, It warrants I would let him take ? My banker. Who paid himself in first rate style, And wears the very blandest smile. Though I am insolvent all the while ? My banker. Who tiz'ed me in the " Evening Mail," And caused my creditorrto quail, And stopped my tick and bottled ale, And shut me up in Reston's gaol ? My banker. Lytteltoa, 1879.
