CHRISTCHURCH HOSPITAL PATIENTS' FUND.

A meeting of the managers of the Destitute Patients' Relief Fund was held tb*s afternoon at the Hospital, at which the following members were present:—Drß. Prins (in the chair), Campbell, Chilton, El i: s, and Patrick. The minutes of the previous meeting having been confirmed, Tho Secretary (Dr. Chilton) presented the following report and abstract of balancesheet : I beg to lay before you the balance sheet of the monies received and expended for the fund. You will see that the conceit realised the sum of .£96 125., and subscriptions paid up to date .£173 Bs, making the sum total of monies received .£270. The amounts expended have been .£B2 Is 9d, of which .£4O has beoa ex pended in providing warm clothing, &c, for the wards, and in binding books. .£ls has been used in relieving and sending patients to Sumner, while the balance has been paid away in concert expenses, including tho special train and bill posting. I think tho time has now come when the managers might very well take into consideration whether they will not invest part of the sum lying in the Bank, and endeavor by some means or other to obtain a sum sufficient to establish some kind of convalescent home next Bummer. Some friends have kindly promised to give a concei i at the end of July or beginning of August, for this purpose. Should this course be decided upon, would it not be advisable to petition the Government and tha Charitable Aid Board to assist P

I have the honor, to be, Gentlemen, Tour obedient servant, Maurice A. Ch'LTON. Christchurch Hospital, June 24th, 1679. A full balance-sheet was presented to the committee of management, in which all the items of receipts and expenditure were shown. After some discussion, the report and balancesheet were adopted.
