The death is announced of Adolph Strodtmann, well known for his excellent translations into German of the works of Tennyson, Shelley, George Eliot, and others, and as biographer of Heine and of Gottfried KinkeJ, whose intimate friend he was. The Council of the Royal Albert Hall, recognising the interest which is being now evinced in the subject of electric lighting, have decided upon offering special facilities foy which the leading scientific principles upon which the subject is based, as well as the distinctive differences of some of the methods which hare been devised for its practical application, may be more extensively made known. The Prince of Wales, President of the Royal Albert Hall Corporation, to evince his interest in the exhibition, has signified bis Intention of being present at the lecture, which will be delivered by Mr W. H. Preeeo, M. Inst. OE., Electrician to Her Majesty’s Post Office.
