PRESENTATION TO MR. RAYNER.

On Tuesday afternoon, June 10th, a presentation of a highly gratifying nature took place at the Kaiupoi Borough school, when Mr Edwin Kayner, the laio head master who happened to hare entered during the afternoon to take away some of his papers, was informed that the children wished him to wait till, they were all assembled. The teachers having mustered the children, of whom there wore about 250 in attendance, in the main building, Mr It. J. Alexander, the head master, explained that, as this was probably Mr Ilayner’s last visit to the school before leaving to take charge of the practising department of the Normal School, the scholars! were glad to take him a little bit by surprise, and in the name of the teachers and scholars he had been requested to hand Mr Rayncr a substantial token of the esteem and respect in which ho was held in the school.
