Wanaka, from Akaroa and Port Chalmers, arrived at noon to-day. She will leave for the North this afterneonThe s.s. Oroti, for Timaru and Dunedin, sailed last night. The brig Wild Wave was towed into the stream yesterday. The barque Orient, loading for Callao, i 3 expected to be finished by Monday next. The T. B. Taylor is expected by Messrs Cuff and Graham from Timaru. The barquo Buttermore, Captain Ogilvie, was towed to sea at half-pant ten o'clock yesterday merning, and sailed for London. Messrs Dalgety, Nichols and Co., her agents, announce the barque Himalaya to follow the Battermere about the 25th instant. The Ansdell is to be berthed to-day on the west Side ot No. 3 Wharf. The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Hawea left Wellington yesterday at 1 p.m. with the southern portion of the mail via San Francisco. She will be due early this morning. The s.s. Wanaka left Port Chalmers yesterday at 1.30 p.m. for here, via Akaroa. Her departure for Wellington, East Coast ports and Auckland is set for to-day. The barqentino Hebe that moved into the stream after discharging her cargo of Newcastle coal, retaining a portion as ballast with which to proceed to Oamaru, is to be re-berthed at one of the wharves and land the balance of her coal, after which sho will take in soma grain and sail for Oamaru to complete loading. The s.s. Oreti, Captain McArthur, arrived last night from Mannkau and intermediate ports. She left Manukau May 31st; Waitara, June 2nd; Wanjranui, 3rd; Wellington, 4th; and Picton on Thursday. She is to sail for Timaru and Donedin to-day. The barque Examiner, Captain J. Sonllar, which left Lyttelton on Tnesday, arrived alongside the wharf at Greymouth yesterday morning, making one of the fastest passages by a sailing vessel that has been recorded. I IThe Ansdell, Captain Paulson, left Newcastle May 7th, had E.S.S. wind and S.E. gales the first twelve days out, then two days light westerly breeze, after which three days of northerly and N.E. wind, blowing a strong gale the last day. Got a breezo on May 25th from the wostward which lasted for twenty-four hours, and carried the vessel to Stephen's Island, when the wind came in from the eastward. Beached Cape Campbell May 28th. thence till the day of arrival, the sth, experienced nothing but light south and S.S.W. winds, with uninterrupted rain and fog. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
