Bitobio ami Co., in Now and of Messrs Bussell, Lo Oren and Co., in London, has been fully completed, and the whole H,a comnany’s affairs in the colony aro under +L management of Mr George Gray Rnssoll in Dunedin, during Mr Ritchie’s temporary absence of purchase the business of the colonial Arm was only handed over on Ist April Vq4u vviiilo that in London was acquired on Ist Tnnuarr 187*. The profit from the business of these Arms has therefore reference to six months’ operations in the colony, and twelve months’ in u'will be seen that tho net profit amounted to ogi’29 18s lOd, after payment of interest on debentures to 31st December. 1878, and after deducting £274 2s 10d for depreciation of office furniture, and £541 16s 9d written off preliminary expenses. 5. From the balance of net profit £8129 18s lOd, there has been paid an interim dividend of £1250 in August last, leaving a balance of undivided profit amounting to £0879 13s lOd. . C. The directors deem this result satisfactory, and recommend the payment of a dividend at tho rate of 5 per cent per annum for the half-year anded Slat December last. This will absorb £12.50, and will leave £-5029 18s lOd to be carried forward to the new account. . 7 Tho directors aro sanguine in their belief that the current year will yield much more favorable results. , 8. Wmt Coast Rushes. — Very good accounts (lays the “ West Coast Times” of a late date) •were received last evening from tho rush at Woodstock. It seems likely, now that gold has beeu got at the other side of the break, that a considerable number of persons will go to work, with excellent prospects, on the ground. It is currently reported (says Saturday’s “ Kumara Times” that a new lead has been struck on some ground that has lately bean taken up near Westbrooke, and a number of miner* crossed the river yesterday to ascertain if the ground warranted the report of its being payable. At the present, however, nothing definite has been ascertained to cause the least excitement. Rahgiora Boaouen Auditors.— Messrs C.
