SPECIAL TO THE GLOBE. THE AFGHAN WAR. LONDON, May 28. The subsidy to bo granted by the English to Yakoob Khan is fixed at six lacs of rupees (£59,388). [BEUTBR’s | TELEGRAMS.] CALCUTTA, May 29. Tho treaty of peace with Yakoob Khan has been signed. The conditions are believed to be such as will prove of pormanent benefit to both countries. LONDON, May 25. Tho Chancellor of the Exchequer made a statement that, after full consideration of Cape affairs, tho British Government has decided to appoint Sir Garnet Wolsoley to tho supremo military and civil command of Natal, Transvaal, and the adjoining districts, including the seat of war. May 26. The Secretary of State for tho Colonies, in reply to a question, said Sir G. Wolseley is instructed to entertain lona fide honorable peace proposals. [SPECIAL TO QIOJ3E.] LONDON, May 26. The Zulus fired the grass, increasing the forage difficulty. Wheat is unchanged. Wool is animated. Eight thousand two hundred and nine-two bales wore disposed of to-day. Yakoob Khan has signed the peace. Sir Garnet Wolsoley is appointed Governor of Natal and Transvaal.
