TROTTING RACE.

A match for £3OO a side, between Mr Evans’ g m Milly and Mr T. Milner’s b g Black Boy, took pine 3 to-day. The distance was fifteen miles, on the Riccarton road, a start being made just above the railway gates. Mr A. Saunders acted as starter, and Captain Dundas as referee. Both horses went off well, the Black taking the lead, which he held to the finish, winning by a long distance in forty-seven minutes. There was a largo attendance of spectators, and a good deal of money besides the stakes changed hands on the event.
