TESTIMONIALS. TO PROFESSOR GUSSCOTT, SIR,— Having for tho last four years suffered from bad eyes, being totally blind in one, and from using a solution of nitrate of silver as a lotion, which had penetrated my whole system causing me the most acute pains, which, added to rheumatism, prevented my sleeping at night, and rendered my life absolutely burdensome to mo, 1 have consulted and been treated by doctors in different parts of Canterbury, as also in the Christchurch Hospital, but without obtaining the slightest relief. Determined to leave no stone unturned while the smallest chance remained of an abatement of my sufferings, I applied to you immediately I heard of your arrival, and the cure which you have effected would seem to many incredible, but as I am still here a living proof of the success of your treatment, as can also be testified by hundreds in I hristchurch, who knowing what I was like for so long up to a week ago, look with astonishment at the change which you have wrought. Wishing you many years of happiness and prosperity in pursuing your useful career I am, dear Sir, yours respectfully, Patrick Burns. Sexton’s Allenton House, St Asaph street, Christchurch. Tuam street, Christchurch, April 28th, 1879. To Professor Gusoott, Sir, —I have been troubled with Liver Complaint these last six years, many times being not able to attend to work, I have tried everything in the shape of patent medicines, I have been an outdoor patient in the Hospital; I got at times temporary relief. I could not sleep on my left side ; I kept rolling about backwards and forwards in bed. When I got up in the morning, I would rather be in bed, but work I had to attend to. When I had eaten a light meal I found it always lodged in my stomach Always costive, a great palpitation, pains across the chest, more particularly under the left breast, always a violent pain between the shoulders, felt just the same as if any one was pouring water down my back, feet always cold. Happened to get one of your bills when you came to St. Asaph street, which explained to me the symptoms I was laboring under. When I applied to lyou, you told me all my symptoms, and guaranteed mo a perfect cure, which, I am happy to say, yon have done through your herbal treatment, I should recommend those troubled with Liver Complaint to place themselves under your treatment. 1 am, Sir, Truly thankful, William Manson. To Professor Gusscott, Sir, — I have been troubled with Dysentry for the last three months, so much so that I was perfectly exhausted, the linings of my intestines peeled away in flakes, I tried every remedy that I could hear of, but to no purpose. Fearing that you were in Christchurch, and seeing the many wonderful cures, induced me to place myself under your treatment, and I am happy to say in one week I am free from tho diarrhoea, and gaining strength from your herbal treatment. I am, yours respectfully, Ellbn Brown. I give you this testimonial for the benefit of others, as 1 know there are a great many others suffering from the same complaint in Christchurch. Borough Hotel, Manchester street, Christchurch, April 21st, 1879. To Professor Gusscott, Sir, — I have been troubled with Sciatica and Rheumatism since the commencement of the West Coast diggings in 1864, where I had to leave through medical advice, and went to Melbourne, thence to Sydney, and then I thought I would try the tropical climate of Queensland, and found only temporary relief, I came to Christchurch and tried doctors of the best medical repute, and got no better. Thinking that it was useless to go any further, I gave up all hopes of being restored ; I could hardly walk, and staying at an old friend’s, he advised me to consult you, and I am happy to say I am in as perfect health as I was in 1864, when I crossed the ranges to the West Coast, and was only ten days under your treatment, John O’Brien. To Professor Gusscott, Sir, —Having been troubled with asthma for the last seven years, on several occasions I have been propped up in bed, and many times I had to get up and walk to get a breath of air, and had become so bad that I was not able to attend to my business ; in fact, I had become a burden to myself and the people with whom I was stopping. When I came to you you told me all my symptoms, which gave me confidence to place myself under your treatment, and being a believer of herbs, and seeing the large assortment in your establishment, and also the references from other sufferers the same as myself, in looking back to the time of my suffering so long, and spending so muoh money without receiving any benefit from the treatment until I applied to you. I remain, yours ever thankful, Donald Smith. Great King street, Dunedin, May 30th. To Professor Gusscott, George street, Dunedin. Dear Sir, —I have been under medical men in Tuapeka for eighteen months, and have been treated by the doctors for indigestion, but found no relief. I was advised to come to Dunedin for change of climate, and was advised to call on you. When I did so, you seemed to be acquainted with my complaint, for you were able to explain to me all the symptoms. lam happy to inform you that after three weeks of your herbal treatment I am restored to perfect health, I am, yours truly, Mrs Elizabeth Watters. Montreal street, Christchurch, April 24th, 1879. To Professor Gusoott, Sir, —I have been troubled with dropsy for the last five years. I have been treated before I came to Christchurch, in Dunedin, but got very little relief. lam in Christchurch now two years. I have tried the best medical advice to no avail. I gave up all hope. They wanted to tap me ; but as I always heard after a person was tapped there was no cure, but seeing the cure you have made of Mrs Lee, near Oamaru, I was, like a drowning man, happy to see a prospect of once more being restored, and seeing the cures you had made in Dunedin in the “ Saturday Advertiser,” that you had come here to settle permanently, 1 made up ray mind I would consult you, and as you were able to explain to me all my symptoms, the cause of my trouble, it gave me more confidence to place myself under your treatment, I am the mother of six children. I am happy to say now that I am free from dropsy, and have full use and command of myself to attend to my domestic duties, as I had eight years ago. I am, your ever thankful, Ellen Kbnnall. Manchester street, Christchurch, April 29th, 1879. I have told several the pain I suffered, and tho wonderful relief I have had.
