WELLINGTON, May 12. The Court of Appeal opened to-day with a fnll Bench of five Judges. JJ, Cohen, jeweller, has made an assignment of his estate ior the benefit of his creditors. WANGANUI, May 12.

An inquest was held to-day on the body of McMahon, who died at tho Rod Lion Hotel, and the jury returned a verdict of manslaughter against a Native mimed Tawaua. McMahon had been drinking heavily, and medical testimony showed that as the primary cause of death, although it was possibly accelerated by tho blow struck.
