Mails close at the Chief Poet Offioe for the following plaoes as under, subjeot to the necessary alterations : FRIDAY, MAY 9. For Northern ports, per Oreti. SATURDAY, MAY 10. For Otago, per Wanaka, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Ladybird, atG.3O p.m.; late letter box, guard's van must not be used for this mail. For Kaikoura, per Jane Douglas, at 3.25 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m train. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will bo closed at Christchurch on Friday, May 23rd, and will be due in London on July The next mail for the|United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for specially addressed letters only), will be closed at Christchurch, on Monday, June 2nd.
