Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under* subject to the necessary alterations MONDAY, MAY 5. For the United Kingdom, &c„ per Stad Haarlem, as follows : Ordinary letters, at noon. Late fee letters, at 12.30 p.m. Books and newspapers, at 11.30 a.m, Registered letters, 11 a.m. Money orders, at 10,30 a.m. Guard’s van, 1.25 p.m. train. TUESDAY, MAY 0. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, via Brindisi and Southampton (for specially addressed letters only), India, China, the East, Australian Colonies, Otago, &c., per Arawata, as follows : Ordinary letters, at 1 p.m. Late fee letters, 1.45 p.m. Books and newspapers, noon. Registered letters, noon. Money orders, at 11 a.m. Guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. Supplementary mails for the United Kingdom, &c.,via Brindisi mid Southampton,will be closed on Wednesday, May 7th, at 7.30 a.m., for despatch per express train to Bluff. The mail via Brindisi will be due in London on June 30th, and the mail via Southampton on July 7th. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will bo closed at Christchurch on Friday, May 23rd, and will bo due in London on July Bth. SYDNEY J. DICK. Chief Postmaster
