Emerald is to leave this afternoon on a cruise to the Auckland and Chatham Islands. fciThe barque Australian Sovereign, Captain Berry, Bailed from Newcastle for here on the Bth inst. AEEIVAL OF THE G.B.S. Tne barque G.B.S. arrived this morning from London via Lisbon after a passage from the port of 133 days, and from Lisbon 89 days. She was dismasted in a storm in the Bay of Biscay, and repaired at Lisbon. Part of her cargo had to he jettisoned during the storm to saye_ the vessel. Her hull came out of the gale uninjured, and no lives wore lost. She b ings cargo only, and is consigned to Messrs Edwards, Bennett and Co. SHIPPING TELEGKAMS. Wellington, April 25. The total quantity and value of wool shipped from this poi’t to Loudon during the present season amounts to 32,914 packages, containing over 11,000,000 lbs, of the value of £593,462. The Pleiades is expected to sail early next mouth. Port Chalmers, April 25. Arrived—Maori and Star of the South from the West. Coast; Eotorui, from Lyttelton. Sailed— Wanaka, for the North, at 4 p.m. Passengers for Lyttelton—Miss Moss. Messrs Solomon, Heurick, Griffiths, and Seymour. Hokitika, April 25, Arrived— Claud Hamilton, from Melbourne, at 4 a.m. She left on April 19th at 2 p.m. Experienced light variable winds and tine weather. She left for elson to-night.
