Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations THUESDAY, APEIL 24. For Northern ports of New Zealand, Sydney, and Brisbane, per Tarurua, at 3.15 p m.; late letters, 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Omoo, at 3.15 p.m.; late letters, 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4lp,m. train. SATUEDAT, APEIL 26. For Northern ports, per Wanaka. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, April 26th, and will bo duo in London on Juno 10th. The next mails for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton will be closed at Christchurch on May sth. The mail via Brindisi will be due in London on Juno 30th, and the mail via Southampton on July 7th. SYDNEY J. DICK. Chief Postmaster.
