[PBB BBESB AGENCY.] Auckland, April 14. The thirteenth half-yearly report of the South British Insurance Company shows :—Total income of £78,300. Of this £5602 was brought forward. Premiums were £66,720, and interest £5965. Expenditure—Losses, £36,681; salaries, commissions, and re-insurances, £26,507; balance, ,£13,026. A dividend at the rate of 15 per cent, on the paid-up capital of £too,ooo was declared, leaving a net amount to carry forward about the same as for the last halfyear. i [from our own correspondents Hamilton, April 1 Five hundred Thames volunteers are assembled here to day for a grand review. They came from the Thames by steamer and train on Saturday and Monday, the distance being 150 miles, and were welcomed heartily by the people here. This morning they met the Waikato Cavalry, and the whole, with five bands of music, mustered and were reviewed by Colonel Lyons. 1 hey return by special train from Hamilton this evening, and to the Thames to-morrow morning. The hotel-keepers billeted the men at a reduced rate. Nelson, April 14. The Volunteer encampment was brought to an untimely end by rain, which has been coming down in torrents since midnight.
