Titania and Templeton were sent once round the plough steady, Maritana by herself following suit. Saunterer' Hornby, and Sinking Fund walked. Randwick and Ratcatcher did a good gallop once round. King Quail did not work. Black Prince, who made his first appearance, was sent a steady gallop of a mile and a half. His stable companion Harkaway was schooled over the hurdles, which he struck several times very hard. Undine, stripped, went once round at a moderate pace, and Adamant and the Idalia colt went the Champagne distance in company at a good pace. Chancellor went a strong gallop with Fenella, finishing at a good pace. Middleton and Numa did alow work. Fishhook went a nice gallop of a mile and a half by himself, and Moose and Te Whetu wore sent a mile and a half at a fair pace. The Agent, York, and Laertes walked. Neither the Chokebore nor Yaidhurat teams put in an appearance.
