ASSESSMENT COURT.
LYTTELTON. Wednesday, Aphid 2. [Before G. L. Lee, Esq., Judge.] This Court for hearing objections to the assessment roll was held yesterday immediately after the adjournment of the R.M. Court. Names on the roll were substituted by others as follows ; Frederick King to Charles Albert Rich, George Baker to Emma Baker, J. Ruxton to Eobert Puflet and Joseph Fletcher, W, B. Allwright to John Hill, William Powell to Joseph Dransfield, John Cameron to Thomas O’Brien. Valuations reduced: —William Bailey, from £2O to £7 ; W. H. Dix, from £32 to £26 ; Alexander Sproul, from £9O to £80; Talbot and McClatchie (Mr Joyce for objectors), from £SOO to £4OO. Upheld: Lyttelton Gas Company, £2OO, and name of Mr H. N. Nalder inserted us chairman of the company. Corrected :—H. N, Nalder, £75 to £65, and the name of Captain Hughes inserted fctr £lO. Struck oil Charles Kay, Charles E. Curtis. Objections cancelled, there being no appearance of the objectors, as follows: —Emma Baker, H. P. Murray Aynsley, F. Banks, William Pratt, John Wakelin, W. de L. Cameron. The Court then adjourned.
