REPORT ON THE SHIP BOYNE.

[Prews Special Wia*e.] Wei/TjINGTON, March 29. The following report; by the Immigration Commissioners at the Port of Lytteltoii upon the immigrant ship B >yne, together with minutes of evidence respecting a breach of section 62 of the Passenger let, 1855, are published for general information : The Commissioners report the arrival of this ship on the 2b'th of February, after a passage of one hundred days. The general health of the immigrants had been good throughout the paesage. The surgeon reported four births and two deaths during the passage, one death, that of an adult, immediately after arrival. The Commissioners are unable to report favorably on the ship. The light and ventilation was imperfect, the dead lights leaked badly, and consequently the decks were continually wet. The discipline on board ship was very imperfect. This was partly owing to the bad conduct of several of the single men and einglo women, and partly to the fact that a number of the crew and also the baker of the ship, were only engaged for the run out at Is per month. Frequent quarrels among the immigrants and also among the ships's crew ore reported in the surgeon's journal, one great cause, doubtless, having been the sale of spirits, which has formed the subject of special enquiry, the report of which ia appt-nded. The provisions had been served out. in accordance with the dietary scale, and the quality was good. The regulations respecting boat and fire drill had been carefully attended to. The bath in the single women's compartment did not work satisfactorily in consequence of defective plumber's work. The commissioner* regret that they cannot report favorably of several of the single women, who, by their conduct during the passage, gave a considerable amount of trouble on arrival. Four of them immediately left their situations, and are about the town with the sailors of the ship. Particulars respecting them are attached to this repirt. In consequence of the result of the enquiry held on the 14th March the feel that they would not he fulfilling their duty did they nob recommend to the Government that the captain's gratuity of £25 be withhold, and thH a similar amount be dedj.: d from that payable to the surgeon, v.-!i-j;;i they cannot recomino'd for further employment.
