A curious story crmio from Aborystwitb. where it is said an old man has been for some time living the life of a hermit far np on the mountain top. As lie had left his wife chargeablo to the parish the authorities sent a constable to arrest him, but when he entered tho hut he found its occupant surrounded by a thousand pet rats who, as though trained to defend their master, turned upon the intruder with such ferocity as to compel him to beat a hasty retreat,
