The barque John Knox irom Sydney, the brigantine Star from Newcastle, and the schooner Edith Reid from Waitapn, arrived this morning The s.s. Albion from Wellington arrived at eight o’clock this morning. She sails South and to Melbourne this alteration. , The s.s, Ladyi ird, Captain Malcolm, arrived yesterday morning from Auckland, Taurauga, 1 overly Bay Napier, and Wellington, She loft Auckland last Monday, and called at the ports named, meeting with tine weather until between Napier and Wellington, where she encountered a southerly gale, which delayed ln j r arrival at the latter port. She brought a full complement of passengers, including the members of the Georgia Minstrel Troupe The passengers left port at 11 a.m. by special train for Christchurch. The steamer leaves to-day for Port Chalmers, via Timaru, 'The barque Inch Marnock, at Wellington, cleared on Friday for Timaru to load grain for London. The Ada C. Owen sailed March 13th from Auckland for Thames, to load timber for here. The s.s. Hawea, Captain Kennedy, arrived on Saturday morning, after a good run of sixteen hours from Port Chalmers. She is in beautiful order, being but a few days out of the Port Chalmers graving dock, where she underwent her periodical overhaul, and was repainted, cleaned, and her decks re-caulked. She sailed for Auckland, via East Coast ports, at 8.30 p.m. The splendid ship Arethusn is now on the berth for London, to sail about the middle of April.
