RIFLE FIRING.
This Day.
The Rifle Association matches commenced this morning on the ranges at Cashmere. The weather was magnificent and favorable for good shooting. The first match was seven shots each at 4C D, 5C3, and 600 yards, for eight prizes offered by the Association. There were thirty-Bix entries, half of them being Otago members. At the first range Appleby (Cbristchurcb) and Hutchison (Dvuedin) each made the highest possible score of 28, with seven consecutive bulls-eyes. Hutchison made 26 at the next range, but fell off altogether at the last. PEIZB LIST. Points.
