THE UNIVERSITY SENATE.
Dunedin, March 15. In the Senate on Friday the following resolutions were carried: — "That the minor scholarships be given by general competition for the highest number of marks." "That a committee consisting of the Bev. Mr Andrew, Eev. Mr Eraser, Eev. Bruce, Dr. Hector, Professor Sale and the mover be ap pointed to revise the regulations for the M.A. degree, and to define the standard for the B.A. degree." The following regulations were adopted by the Senate: — " Any person may bo admitted without examination as an undergraduate member of the University of New Zetland who shall have passed matriculation examination, or completed any part of his undergraduate course at any of the undermentioned Universities, namely : Oxford, Cambridge, Glasgow, Aberdeen, St. Andrews, Edinburgh, Dublin, Durham, London, Queen's University of Ireland, Sydney, or Melbourne ; and sh ill bo considered of the same standing, as regards the keeping of terms only, as if he had been an undergraduate member of the University of New Zealand—provided always that he shall give to the Kegistrar, to the satisfaction of the Chancellor, evidence of good conduct at any such ITmVoroity.
