TOWN v. COUNTEY. This match was continued on Saturday laat, but was not productive of pood play. The Town made up their total to 285, principally by the aid of a further contribution of 20 from Hartland, who at the fall of the last wicket was not out for the fine score of 127, having gone in firat and played all through the innings. He only gave one chance, and should have been run out once, bnt both opportunities were allowed to pass. His play throughout the innings was very good, and there was an absence of those fluky snicks which so frequently occur, especially off fast bowling. His defenco was Btrong, and his hitiing well timed. His score comprised three s's, four 4's, thirteen 3's,_ fifteen 2's and singles. The Country, who again only mustered seven representatives, then went in, but failed to make any stand, 49 being the total at the fall of the sixth wicket, of which Ollivier made 17, and Neileon 15, not out. They followed on, but were again quickly disposed of for 43, Neilson again being not out for 16. Ollivier was absent daring this innings, so that only live wickets fell. On Saturday next the last match of the season will be commenced, and it is to be hoped that the players put down to play will be more regular in their attendance, as it is anything but pleas-nt for those who do go up to find that they have to obtain four or five substitutes to field, besides being deprived of the necessary number of batsmen.
