The Legislative Assembly have passed ft. Bill imposing a poll tax of £lO on Chinese. The steamer Brisbane has arrived at Port Darwin with Chinese. She reports another thousand Chinamen now on the way, and who will arrive in about ten days. The steamer Easby arrived at Newcastle to-day. Melbouene, March 13. At the Marquis of Normanby’s levee yestcrdajr there were 1300 presentations. The Rotorua arrived from the Bluff today. . . The Underwriters’ Association report, under date London, March 13th, tho arrival of the Lurlino from Lyttelton.
