tPress special Wire.] Dunedin, March 12. At a meeting of the University Senate to-day, the report of the committee of the -whole Senate on the Chancellor's report was read and adopted. The following extracts represent the more important parts of it: That the following gentlemen be admitted to ad eundem degrees : John Mackay, M.A.. Glasgow ; Peter Mason, 8.A., Edinburgh ; David Williamson Rnnciman, MA., Glassrow ; Charles Oliver Mules, M.A., Cambridge ; Percy Bolland Adams, 8.A., Cambridge; Alexander French, M.A., Glasgow; Alexander Grant, M.A., Aberdeen; Robert Peattie, M.A., St. Andrews; James Prendergast, 8.A.., Cambridge ; Charles Moslem Dearie, M.D., Edinburgh ; William Viaddell, M.A., Edinburgh; Alexander McLean Wright. M.A., Edinburgh ; Robert Kidd, LL D., Dublin. That a regulation be mado amending the regulation specifying the terms, &c , for the B.A. degree to the following effect:—"The examination may be passed in two sections. Either two or three of the subjects of examination, one of which must be either Latin or mathematics, shall constitute the first section, which may be taken at the end of the second or any subsequent yQar, and the remaining subjects shall constitute the second section, which may be taken at the end of the third or any subsequent year; or at the option of the candidate'the whole five subjects may be taken together at the end of the third or any subsequent year." That the regulation regarding scholarships be brought into harmony with the above resolutions. That a regulation be made amending regulation for admission of undergraduates from other Universities, by omitting the words " kept any number of terms," and inserting "passed the matriculation examination, or completed any part of his undergraduate course," and omitting the *vfviJ j " for the same time." 1 hat all examinations for degrees, senior scholarships, and honors, should be conducted by examiners in Great Britain. That a committee be appointed to enquire whether all the University examinations can be conducted in the colony, and to report to the next meeting of the Senate. That the Chancellor bo requested to convey the thanks of the Senate to the registrar of the University of London for his offer of assistance in obtaining the services of examiners in England, and to request him to take steps at once for securing the services of examiners in England for the M.A., 8.A., third year senior scholarship, and honours examinations for the year 1879 in the following subjects :—Greek language and literature, English language and literature, mathematics, chemistry, and mental science.

That in the remaining subjects the Chancellor be requested to appoint examiners from Sydney, Melbourne, or Mew Zealand, and that the University degree examinations for 1879 be made to commence not hver than Tuesday, November 18th.
