Interprovincial Prize Firing
[By Telegbafh.] Nelson, March 12. Tho eighth match was finished soon after dinner, the winners being—Feuton, Thames, 51; Wilson, Dunedin, 51; Somerville, Wangauui, 50; Purnell, Wanganui, 49; Gordon, Grahams-town, 49. This has been the quietest day in the camp, little or no interest being taken in the small-bore matches. i',very one that could get away has left. To-morrow, at 3 p.m., the prizes will be distributed. Tho 900 yards range for the fourth match was commenced directly after the 1000 yards in the ninth match was over. It was only finished at 5 p.m., too late to commence the 1000 yards, bo the match can only be completed early to-morrow morning. The scores for the first range areSkinner, 24; Hutchinson, 23 ; Wilson, 23; Somerville, 21 ; Purnell, 18. There are only about fifteen firing in this match. Nelson, March 13. Tho camp was struck at eleven this morning, and the representatives came to town by a special train. Tho prizes will be presented this afternoon. A meeting of the members of the association was held at tho camp last night, whet, resolutions to the following effect passed, which are to be forwarded to the executive committee for approval. They are to the effect that no points made at drill are to count in any match ; sum of money to be given to those winning in the matches north and south should be equally divided among them ; that all ranges be properly surveyed and marked out; that in the all comers matches, or those open to all Volunteers, the distance should not exceed 500 yards ; that there should not be less than five matches for each belt; that programmes for next meeting be issued three months before it kes place.
