The steamer Arawata arrived from Wellington this morning, at half-past seven, and the Wakatipu, from Port Chalmers, at eleven o’clock. The Arawata will sail this evening, the Wakatipn not before to-morrow. The barques Lotterfourie and Mathieu cleared at the Customs this morning for Newcastle. SHIPPING TELEGEAMS, Port Chalmers, March 12. Arrived —Eingarooma, from the Bluff; Maori, from the West Coast, and Star, from Timaru. Sailed —Eosannah Eose, for Kaipara. The French barque Arrogant, from Newcastle, is ashore off Pilot Beach. The ship Waitaki was to tow her off, hat coaid not. She lays head to sea, and will need to be lightened.
