Mails close at the Chief Post Office tor the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations THURSDAY, MARCH 6.
For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian colonies, per Easby, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m, train. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Ladybird, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train.
The next mails for United Kingdom via ’Brindisi and Southampton will be closed at Christchurch on Wednesday, March 12th. The mail via Brindisi will be duo in London on May sth, and the mail via Southampton on May 12th. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco will bo closed at Christchurch on Friday, March 28th, and will bo due in London on May 13th, SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
