Mails close at the Chief Post Offloe for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations i WEDNESDAY, MAECH 5. For Australian Colonies, per Express to Port Chalmers, at 7.30 a.m. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian colonies, per Easby, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letter box, guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Wanganui, per St. Kilda, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 10 p.m.; late letter box, guard's van, 2.40 p m. train. For Wellington, Nelson, and Westport, per Star of the South, at 3.15 p.m. ; late fee lettors, 3.35 p.m.; late letter box, guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Otago, per Wakatipn, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 10 p.m. ; late letter box, guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mails for Unitod Kingdom via IBrindisi and Southampton will be closed at Christchurch on Wednesday, March 12th. The mail via Brindisi will be due in London on May sth, and the mail via Southampton on May 12th.
