Mails close at the Chief Post Office for th* (lowing places as under, subject to the necessary alterations s THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, Sydney, and Brisbane, per Tararua, at 4,45 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, must not be used for this mail. SATURDAY, MARCH 1. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, 10at a.m. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 1 p.m. ; late fee letters, 1.45 a.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Rotorua. For Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, and Hokitika, per Maori. For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, and America, via San Francisco, per Hawea, as follows :—Ordinary letters, at 1 p.m.; late fee letters, at 1.45 p.m.; registered letters, at noon; books and newspapers, at noon; money orders, at 11 a.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 2,40 p.m. train. This mail will bo duo in London on April 15th. The next mails for United Kingdom via Brindisi and Southampton will be closed at Christchurch on March 12th.
