This morning's proceedings at the Forbury commenced with Mata and Oamballo taking a mile and a-half spin together, of which thebrown horse had a long way the best. Mata was sweating a good ueal even when he waa stripped, and the gallop made him blow considerably. Maritana and Titania, the latter with a rug on, w«-e sent nearly two rounds, tbo young mare ranning over her companion all the way. Templeton and Sinking Fund, with rues on, covered two miles at three-quarter speed, both going in good style. Huutingdon went a couple of miles with Eversly. Kildare had three miles on the tan and over the hurdles. Te Whetu went a good striding gallop three times round the course, Fenella joining in at the last mile. Nemo and Foul Play started together, and after going a mile and a half, the latter dropped out, and Marie Antoinette, taking his place, brought the colt home the rest of the Cup distance. Nemo went very strong and the trio all look well. Venus Transit did a mile and a quarter at a good pace, but the inlander colfe was not working. Chancellor and York, looking very fit, were treated to a mile steady. Atlantic was sent two miles, but he labored very much, Dione, a handsome chesnut filly, possessing apparently both speed and quality, went a mile orso in very taking style. Dundee and Adamant did slow work. The Maiden Plater,. Milo, per* formed on the Tommy took a long sweat, and Te Kooti worked by himself Ben jiroo» was sent a mile slow by himself, and Cloth of Gold followed suite. None of the others of Smith's team did anything save walking exercise. Blue Peter, Boadicea, and Numa, were on the ground, but I did not see any of them working except the last-named, who was sent with King Philip and one or two hacks, and had none the worst of it.
