Campbell and Co., and was held on the scene of the disaster on the Ninety-mile beach, near Taumutu. The attendance of buyers was large, and nil the lots submitted obtained fair competition. The hull rigging, &c, was eventually kuocked down to Mr Wm. Wood, for £3lO. The cargo, which consisted of oats, bran, flour, &c, was purchased by local buyers at very satisfactory prices, considering the difficulty of cartage. , The Union Steamship Company give notice that lutrgage labels may be procured at the Company s offices here and at Lyttelton. The schooner Alert arrived at Wellington, from Timarn, on Sunday night last. The steamship Eingarooma, of the U.a.o. line, arrived at eight o'clock yesterday morning, sixteen hours and a-half from Wellington, She brought fifty-seven passengers aud ten tons of cargo, as per memoranda above ; took in forty tons, and sailed at 3 30 p.m. for Port Chalmers en route to Melbourne via Bluff and Hobart Town, with twentyone passengers booked here.
