Star of the South came in from Timarn on Saturday morning, having left there at 3 p.m. the day previous. She sailed for Wellington and the West Coast ports in the afternoon. The barque Swallow for Newcastle was towed into the stream on Saturday by the p.s. Titan. The Union Company’s steamer Hawea arrived at noon, on Saturday from the uorth. She left Bussell at 8 p.m. on the 2nd iust , arriving at Auckland at 5 a.m. on the 3rd inst. Left ag*in same day at 4.30 p.m.. arriving at Caurauga at 5 a.m. on the 4th inst. Left Tauranga nt noon, and arrived at Gisborne at II a.m. on the sth inst. Left again a,t 6 p.m., arriving nt Napier at 5 a in. on the oth Left Napier at 1 p.m., an I arrived at Wellington at 4 a m. on the 7th iust. Left Wellington at 730 p.m. Fine weather throughout. Discha ged thirty tons ot cargo and took in fifty, aud sailed South at seven o’clock on Saturday night. The Edith Reid, schooner, from Waitapu, arrived on Saturday. Captain Corman report- leaving on We mesday la=t, had N.W, winds to Cape Campbell. S W. for twenty-hour hours, and light N.E. to arrival. The cwo hopper barges are laid up for the annual overhaul. The Stunner was slipped at Messrs Loutit and Co.’s yard on Saturday, and the dredge taken on the hard at Dampier’s Bay. The U.S.S. Co.’s Tanpo, Captain Cromarty, arrived at 5 p.m. on Saturday, from Akaroa aud Port Chalmers, several hours overdue, which were lost at the former port, the vessel getting fast in the mud. She left Port Chalmers at 3.45 p.m. on the 7th, arrived at Akaroa at 7.15 a.m. on the Sth, and left there at 13.15 p.m for Lyttelton. After discharging eighty tons of cargo and shipping seventy she sailed at eleven o’clock on Saturday night with a full complement of passengers. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Bluff, February 9. The Ringarooma left Melbourne at 4 30 p in. on the 4th. arrived nt Hobart Town at 10.45 a m. on the 6th, left the same day at 7 p.m., aud arrived at 9 a.m. She sails for Dunedin at 4 p.m Passengers— Saloon—Messrs Warsley, Drausfleld, Heath, and Bellairs, and eight steerage.
