The sentences on the Glasgow Bank directors were—Potter and Stronach, eighteen months; Taylor, Inglis, Wright, Salmon, and Stewart, eight months' imprisonment. Counsel urged that they were not guilty of uttering a false balance-sheet, and that they had no motive for falsifying it. Cetywayo has failed to tender his submission, and war has been declared against him. The New Zealand Loan is 1 per cent, higher. All Colonial securities are buoyant. Conaols are at 97.
