NORTH V. SOUTH. The Eleven having returned from Victoria on Thursday lust were able to take part in the match on the ground on Saturday last. The game did not. commence until about 2 30 p.m. by the who had won th« toss, tfoing in. The two first wickets fell quickly, Wilson running himself out, and a fine catch by Wood at short leg pausing Ollivior to retire, Secretan and W. Frith, however, played well, and the score increased rapidly while they were at the wickets. C. Frith, who was bowling at the lower end, gave way to Corfe, and Ashby changed from fast to slow. The flret ball from Corfe proved fatal to W. Frith, caught at short-leg for a neatly played 17. Baker hit the slows grandly to leg for 5, but was soon afterwards well caught by Wood at mid-on. With the score at 93, Secretan, who had played a fine innings, was bowled by Corfe for 43, made principally by cuts. Very little stand was then made against the bowling, but when Neilson and Skelton became partners the rain came on, which put an end to play for the afternoon. Corfe bowled well, and the fielding was good, Wood making two very fine catches. The following is the score :

NORMAL COLLEGE. The above match took place on Saturday, and resulted in a win for the Youths hy 63 runs. The scores were—N.C.C., 27; S.YC, 90. The bowling of the Youths' Ch'.b was entrusted to Fowke and Wagstaff, whilst Banks bowled well for the College. In the batting department Butler, 39 ; Smith, 15 ; and Eowe, 10, not out; distinguished themselves for the S.Y.C., whilst C. C. Howard, with 9, played a serviceable innings for the N.C.C. CROWN C.C. V. RICHMOND SECOND ELEVEN. This match resulted in favor of the latter by 55 runs. The scores were:—Crown, 17 ; Richmond, 72. Eor the latter, Peacock, 20; and Harvey, 19; were the only double figures. The bowling of McCleary and Eldridge for the latter proved very destructive, as also did Empson and White for the former.
