FERRY ROAD DRAIN.

To the Editor of the Glohe. Sib, —Is it absolutely necessary that such ■An enormous length of the new Ferry road •drain should remain open at the same time. While fully recognising the value of the work, it seems to me that the safety of the public should bo looked after as much as Sossible during the course of construction, 'here is no protection against vehicles or ’buses falling into the abyss. This may be unavoidable, but surely it is not absolutely necessary that as much as a quarter of a mile should be open at the same time. Yours, &c., VIATOR.
