Whitefoord, Esq., E.M.] AIiSCONDING I'BOII tub ludusteiaii School.-—William Darrick and Borthold Rosanosk*', two boys, the last-named an Italian, were brought up on the charge of absconding from the Burnham Industrial School, where they had been committed under the Criminal and Neglected Children's Act. The boys admitted the charge, and Mr Rosewaruo, the master of the Bchool, stated the circumstances under which they ran from the school. Rosanoski had formerly been in the training ship, and had several times ran away. On being aeked their reason for running away, Darrick had nothing to say for himself, but Rosanoski, a most determined sullen looking lad, said ho did not care about being there. After lecturing the lads, the Bench ordered them to be sent back to the school, and Rosanoski, whose persuasion appeared to have enticed his companion away, was further ordered to receive two dozen strokes with a birch rod. Labokny.—Richard Roberts and Francis John Ormandy were charged with stealing five bottles of wine, value 30s, the property of Richard Walton. At the request of the Inspector of Police the prisoners were remanded until Friday, the 31st, bail being allowed in two sureties of £25 each. Patrick Skerrett was charged with stealing five meerschaum pipes and cases, value -V.ie, the property of Lewis Eiward Nathan. On the application of the police this case was also remanded to the same day, the same bail being allowed as in the previous case.
