POST OFFICE NOTICES
Moils close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary ■lterations - SATURDAY, JANUARY 25. For Akaroa ami Otago, per Wanaka, at 11.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m. ; late letter box, guard s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Southern Cross, at. .>.Io p.m,: late foe letters, 3.36 p.m.; lato letter box, guard’s van, t p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Hawea, at 0.30 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, must not bo used for Ibis mail. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on February Ist, and will bo duo iu London on March 18th. The next mail for the United Kingdom via Southampton and Brindisi will close at Christchurch on February 12th. The mail via Brindisi will be due in Loudon on April 7th, and the mail via Southampton on April 14th. NOTICE. A travelling Post Oilico having boon established on the Southern lino of railway, letters bearing a late fee of two pence may bo posted at any station in the mail carriage attached to the express train, and they will bo included in the mails made up in transit for offices on the main lino and branches.
