The match against the Richmond Club, the last on the programme of the tour, was com menced this morning. The Richmond captoin won the toss, and his team took the batting. The wicket was rather soft. Ihe Canterbury bowling was scarcely up to the usual standard. The elder Manion and Thomas made the beat scores for the Richmond, the former having reached tho formidable total of 77, when he was caught by Puller off Ashby. For Canterbury Ollivier and Neilson made good scores before they were disposed of, the innings of both being well played throughout. The fielding of the Richmond men was indifferent, and their bowling at times loose. Tho following is the result of the first day's play Richmond. First Innings.
