Mails olose at the Chief Post Offioe for the following plaoes aa under, snbjeot to the necessary tlterations i SATURDAY, JANUARY 11. For the Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 11 a.m. For Akaroa and Otago, per Taupo, at 11.25 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m.; late letter box, guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies,per Easby, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; late letterbox, guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per "Wannka, at 6.30 p.m.: Late letter box, guard's van, must not be used for this mail. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Southampton and Briudisi, will close at this office on January 15th. The mail via Southampton will be dne in London on March 17th, and the mail via Brindisi on March 10th, 1879. Supple mentary mails will be despatched overland to Port Chalmers, per express train, on Thursday, 16th January. The noxt mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at this office on January 31st, and will bo due in London on March 18th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
