LAND REVENUE RETURNS.
[Special Wire.] Wellington, January 8. The “Chronicle” gives the land revenue for the month of December so far as the returns have been received from the several districts of the colony. The returns are—Ellesmere and Forsyth, reclamation, &c., £Ol7 4s ; Westport and Ngakawau coalfields railway, £2 13s 4d; Ashburton, £1493 11s 3d ; Ashley, £1493 8s 5d ; Akaroa, £486 ; Bay of Islands, £274 5s ; Bruce, £4Bl 16s lid ; Buffer, £37 7s 3d; Clutha, £635 Is 4d ; Coromandel, £278; Coffingwoo'l, £3119s 6d; Grey, £56 2s 6d ; Geraldine, £597 ; Inangahua, £ll3 8s 6d; Lake, £93 15s 8d; Manukan, £978 ss; Manawatu, £75 13s ; Manitoto, £2BO 2s; Marlborough, £5 lls 8d; Pa. tea, £1 ; Sounds, £1 Os lOd ; Southland, £9156 lls 3d ; Stewart’s Island, £2l 17s Gd ; Selwyn, , ’£6B 9s lid; Taieri, £144 10s; Taranaki, £1790 5s 6d; Thames, 7s 6d; Tuapeka, £I4OB 4s 5d ; Vincent, £65 7s ; Wairarapa East, 10s ; Wairarapa West, £4l ; Waipawa, £66 9s 8d; Waimea, £69 Is 4d ; Wairaate, £742 7s ; Waikouaiti, £362 17s lid ; Wallace, £743 12s ; Whakatane, £ls ; Westland, £l7 12s 6d; total, £23,661 9s Bd. The following land has been sold on deferred payments : —Lake, £6 ; Southland, £3 ; Selwyn, £lB ; Wallace, £2B 10s ; total, £BS 10s. This gives a gross total of £24,746 10s 8d for December.
