POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations THURSDAY, JANUARY 9. For Northern ports, per Arawata, at 1.15 p.ni.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letter-box, guards van, 2.40 p.m. train, SATURDAY, JANUARY 11. For the Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 11 a.m. „ For Northern Ports, per Wanaka. For Akaroa and Otago, per Taupo. For Northern Ports and Australian Colonies, per Eashy, at 1.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, close at this office on January 15th. The mail via Southampton will he due in London on March 17th, and the mail via Brindisi on March 10th, 1879. . The next mail for the United Kingdom, via ban Francisco, will close at this office on January 31st, aud will be due in London on March 18th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
