The cricket match between the Taranaki re* preservative team and the Auckland Club commenced in the Domain this morning. The weather was fine and the attendance large. Auckland went in first and made 122, the highest individual scores being Wood and Hankham, 20 each, Blundeu 10, and Gi’ierson 13. The Taranaki team made 05 in their first innings, including G. As tho Chinamen were on their way home they were again assaulted, and had to seek refuge in the Empire Hotel, where they had to remain till about four in the morning, during which time the crowd remained outside waiting for them.
