Mails close at the Chiof Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary ■(.lterations : FRIDAY, JANUARY 3. For Otago, per Ladybird, at 11.25 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.35 a.m.; late letter box guard’s van 12.10 p.m. train. For Kaikoura and "Wellington, per Tai, at. 4.45 p.m. Late letter box, guard’s van, must not be used for these mails. For the United Kingdom, Europe, America, via San Francisco, Australian colonies, and Northern ports of New Zealand, per Tararna, at 5.15 p.m. Late fee letters C p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, G. 30 p.m., special train. Registered letters at 1 p.m. Books aud newspapers at -1 p.m. Money orders at 3.30 p.m. This mail willhe duo in Loudon on February 18th, 1879. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, will close at this office on January loth. Tho mail via Southampton will he due in London on March 17th, aud the mail via Brindisi on March 10th, 1879.
